The CARE Program
Long Term Care Diversion
Announcement
The Department
of Elder Affairs (DOEA) has just released Memorandum # 2011-11.8-NHDSWCBS. The content in the memo is as
follows:
Effective
August 3, 2011, the DOEA will initially release approximately 2900 people from the EMS (Enrollment
Management System or "Wait List" for potential enrollment in the Diversion
Program.
These
people will be contacted on or before 8/15/11 to see if they still qualify / are still interested
in becoming enrolled.
All new
referrals and other clients that are on the "Wait List"will remain in the Queue for subsequent
releases, The DOEA anticipates similar releases through the fiscal year.
Diversion
providers will be apprised as they occur.
This is
WONDERFUL news!!! PLEASE call me directly if you have any questions about the program or obtaining
enrollment paperwork. Unfortunately we (United) do
not have access to the wait list so I cannot tell you if or when someone may be getting on the
program. This information is regulated through Tallahassee. The local CARES office does not have
this information either.
